The words I never said…

Are about how on hangers, over white, you find rows of wishes fulfilled today. In
details of purity, pink, pearls, gold in wax and delicacy, in reflections of beings
waiting, I say nothing, for I would disturb their hide and seek in castle corners.
I wa silent when the shadows tried on white shoes, silent when flowers bloomed
washed by smiles and light pouring inside from still clear skies. Then it rained, but
only for the happiness to grow roots inside this fairy-tale day.
Tale told by steps chasing completion, and a mother’s fingers working magic as
always. And her, in white halo and veil mirages, calls out to her dreams, tries on
shadows and light both, to hear how the impatience to see him sounds the same no
matter where.
I respected the silence gathered inside the father’s hand, next to emotion and
strength, when he waited for her, like a refuge of pride, again under his protective
wing. He kept her safe from the rain, but takes her to someone who will protect her
from everything and everyone, and her smile tells the father she’ll be fine, she’s
happy and this road leads not to another family, but to a larger one.
It rains on the way, and then the sun comes out, like a human life, a crazy, beautiful,
unpredictable prognosis. And when she finds him, behind sacred doors and filtered
light from windows built for the giants, she laughs, warm and open, like a promise
made by the cover of night. She tells him, without me hearing, that his hand saved
her, without sharp tools, only with gentle touches and strength radiating from his
veins to her heart.
The raindrops fell silent, replaced by petals, and the pattern of bricks gathered closer,
and the tear trails and the steps trails too, and the heart she carries around her wrist
beats now on his hand too, in a band placed there with care and dedication.
There are words resting on envelopes and cute masks, on familiar faces and cake
frosting, and retold by them, only to each other. Under veils and castle towers and
under the fussy clouds and the whole sky, and they send them to the universe, proud
and restless, even as the sunrise demands another dance, always another dance.
All the words I never said are sitting there, coloured, in the visual storytelling of this
fairy-tale wedding.
